New Beginnings - Bereavement Support Group

Our Lady of Angels offers a Bereavement Support Group Ministry. All men and women from any parish who have experienced a recent loss are welcome to attend. We will meet bi-monthly: St. Joseph Center (ground Floor) 336 - 73rd Street.For further information contact: Judy Chiarchiaro at 718-748-1164. LITURGY COMMITTEE MEETING

Our Lady of Angels Liturgy Committee meets once a month.All parishioners are welcome to join. So, if you have ideas concerning our parish liturgies or events and are willing to help plan and bring to fulfillment please come and join us. Next meeting will be February 21st.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION

Our parish is in need of volunteers to come forward to be Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. We have lost several ministers due to illness. This ministry is extremely rewarding and is not difficult. You always have a preference for the Masses you would like to serve. Please pray over this and if you think God is asking you to do this please call Margaret Jones at the rectory: 718-836-7200 Ext. 22.

WORLD MARRIAGE DAY

Our Lady of Angels parish will celebrate "World Marriage Day" at the 5:00 PM Mass on Saturday,February 11, 2012. All married and engaged couples are invited to come, renew their vows, and celebrate their blessed dedication to each other and to God. Also all married couples from other cluster parishes are invited to join us. Refreshments will follow in the school cafeteria. Please call the rectory to let us know if you will attend. We do not need your name. We just need to know the number of people attending so we can provide the refreshments.

Bible Discussions - Monday Afternoons

Breaking Open the Word for Children

At the Sunday 10:30AM Family Mass all children in Grades K through 3 are invited to participate in the Liturgy of the Word for children. Catechists will lead the children to the Christ the King Chapel and bring them back to Church after the Prayer of the Faithful. The children will hear the Word of God in a manner more suited to their age and ability to understand. They will come to know Jesus Christ our Savior in the Scriptures.

The OLA Woman's Book Club

Next meeting will be Monday, January 30th at 7:30 PM in the Msgr. Cavanagh Room. The Book is The Calligrapher's Daughter by Eugenia Kim.
